Volunteers

Volunteers are integral to our organization.

Below you will find a list of volunteer opportunities that are typically available. If you find one of interest, complete the application form below. Once your information is received, please allow for five business days for HOPE to review the information and respond.

Please note that any medical volunteer must provide HOPE with a copy of their Texas Medical License and proof of insurance coverage. HOPE does not provide malpractice insurance for volunteers; rather, HOPE's volunteers are protected under the Federal Volunteer Protection act of 1997 ( https://www.texmed.org/Template.aspx?id=2107#Introduction).

Medical volunteers who possess a medical degree but are awaiting residency placement may not volunteer to provide direct medical treatment to patients. If approved by the Medical Director of HOPE, they may assist in patient records, medication consultation, preventative health information, and possibly triage.

All volunteers must undergo a criminal background check and must have a clear record on NSOPW.org
