Who Qualifies?
Persons with or without access to care such as private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or Texas CHIP. In order to fully qualify for medical and mental health services, persons must fall below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. For example, a family of four must not exceed a total household annual income of 42,400.
Is There A Cost To These Services
Medical and counseling consultations are free; however, a donation of $10 for the first visit and $5 for following visits is strongly encouraged. Support groups and education classes are provided at no cost. Community Hope Projects, Inc. was incorporated in 1995 and it received its 501c3 status in 1997. During 1995 to 2001 a steering committee served as the backbone to Community Hope Projects, Inc. This committee coordinated the construction of a center to house both programs and the launching of services.
What is the patient’s responsibility?
Laboratory testing and diagnostic testing is the responsibility of the patient. Hope Family Health Center will however work at creating affiliations with local laboratories and testing centers in order to provide patients with low cost options for treatment. The patients are responsible for utilizing our holistic services to reach their medical and mental health potential.
Who provides these services?
Services, to adults and children, are provided by qualified VOLUNTEER medical professionals and contract licensed therapists that supervise the work of student interns from the University of Texas Pan American from such departments as Social Work. Additionally the UTPA departments of Physician Assistant Studies, Dietetic & Nutrition Studies, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and the Pharmacology Cooperative Program also provide support by providing student volunteers from their respective programs.
